how would you rate your alero's handling

I was wondering how would you rate your alero's handling. I absolutely love how mine handles whether snow/rain or punching it with trac on or off.

I'd rate mine as 'average'. It's been getting steadily worse as I add more miles to the car. The roads in Michigan don't help that out either.

i been to michigan the roads weren't that bad in detriot imo

New to the forums and to the Alero, less than a month owning this
lightly used 2002 v6 and love how it handles, very smooth riding for
me in the PA/NY roads.

The ride and handling on Aleros will vary depending on what model, suspension/handling option, and tires. There are at least two suspension/handling options FE2 and FE3. FE3 is the performance handling package. Easiest way to verify is check the SPID label located on the back of the spare tire cover look for the GM RPO code mentioned above. Also, Aleros through the years were delivered with different brand/quality tires and wheel sizes. The Alero model that handles above average is the GL2 model which has the FE3 package and the 16" Goodyear Eagle RSA "V" rated tires same as found on the Grand AM GT.

If you ever wanted to improve on it though you could easily get the KYB AGX struts, some eibach/H&R/intrax springs, front and rear swaybar from pfyc.com, and some strut braces from wherever, to get something a bit on the spicier side.

i was just looking for a simple answer to the question like the handling is good or decent or whatever

There is no simple answer and too many variables is all I was pointing out. Rating handling and suspension is too subjective in nature and will be the opinion of the owner of the respective car and not necessarily fact.

Based on Grandma's response there is definitely room for improvement.

Head west of Lansing next time you come this way. Detroit area roads aren't too bad. They degrade quickly as you head west. They're trying to make them better though.

my Alero handles beautifully! it's got the L4 2.2 Ecotec. i've never had any car real car problems, the only ones i had was due to weather, and dumb people... in Valdez, Alaska we get about 300" + of snow in the winter, and i high centered on 2 feet of snow, and my neighbor went to tow me out hooking the line to my control arm, and bent it. and my window got screwed up...but other than that, i wouldn't trade my car in for nothing...i'm just gonna put in a new engine when it dies.
