2000 Silverado service engine light

Hi,

Have a 2000 Chevy Silverado, 4.8 engine, 115,000 miles. The Service engine light has come on intermittenly for the last year. Had a friend use his hand held scanner, it said it was the 02 sensor behind the converter. I bought a Bosch sensor and replaced, reset code and light still comes on. Brought to Chevy dealer, they determined that the Bosch sensor was also bad, they moved the Bosch sensor to different location and the error followed the sensor. Chevy said it is more than likely a bad 02 sensor and it should only be replaced with Genuine GM parts. Is it possible to have a bad Bosch sensor out of the box or is it possible there is another reason for Service engine light to come on. I hate to throw good money after bad. Thanks for any help you can give.

OEM parts are the only way to go when it comes to sensors and other electrical components ..........IMO

Moving the sensor and the code moving with has done told you that you have a bad one.

You can get a bad new part and also they can run in bad batches.
The bosh sensors are under warranty.Take it back get another one out of a fresh batch or get your money back and go AC Delco sensors.

As said Dealer oem parts are the way to go.
They only hurt one time.

Thanks for the answers, i didn't know Bosch sensors were under warranty, only problem is i can't fine the receipt.
