VT Shooting

So, hear about the VT shooting? Of course you have!!!

http://www.abcnews.go.com/US/story?id=3045574&page=1

It's all over the news even Internationally. Apparently the worst in US History. Fortunently all my friends have been accounted for so far. I have a few that haven't written back but it's a sad time up there. Please pray for the families and people affected by this event. The count is up 31.

Re: VT Shooting

Wow, that's quite a jump from the 21 I heard reported earlier.

I wish they'd say who the gunman was.

Re: VT Shooting

I wonder what lead that person to the killings? Possibly it had something to do with the current events, politics? This is not good.

It could be quite possible that some have died of there wounds later.

Re: VT Shooting

This is just horrible!

My mom just got home and was telling me about this...she teaches at a Northern Illinois and I guess everyone is freaking out about security now.

Re: VT Shooting

I still think Chris Rock was right when he said bullets should be insufferably expensive for everyone except the people that "need" them, law enforcement. $500 a bullet would stop college kids from letting off 60 shots to express themselves.

In any event, this is a horrible way to end a semester.

Re: VT Shooting

This just leaves me in shock. I have been on the campus of VA Tech several times, and I know those buildings.

The thing I can't get over is how the shooter made it across campus (which is HUGE, btw) for 2 whole hours without being stopped. I just can't believe the whole thing.

Re: VT Shooting

I just got home from school, and what a shock it was to see all of this. School shootings and the like are becoming alarmingly common, this is just terrible.

I was thinking the same thing. The only way I could see it happening was if there was only 1 victim at first and they thought it was a random isolated incident and the shooter had fled. But still, everyone on campus should have been put on alert after the first shooting regardless of how many bodies had fallen.

The president of VT spoke on NBC Nightly News, and he said that they had trouble deciding where to shut people in. Only 9k of the 26k students live on campus, so shutting people in dorms would be impractical. Still, I can't get over that he could make it all the way across campus like that.

Re: VT Shooting

So saddening. In a case like this, if I were to put myself in it, I would want to live so much more just for the sake of my family and friends. If I were to die, I would be dead, but the families that have to go through this suffer so much.

Re: VT Shooting

And half of you in the US would argue with me if I suggested this should be a catalyst for reforming your gun laws.

Stop the insanity.
