Service Vehicle Soon Light
I have an 02 Grand Am GT. The service vehicle soon light comes on sometimes, it does not come on every time I drive the car. I have looked through the Haynes manual and it does not even mention this light. Has anyone ever had some experience with this light and happen to know some common things this light is linked to? I had to replace the circuit board on the rear taillight because of corrosion, is this a possiblity? Once this light comes on, do you have to turn it off using special electronics other than disconnecting the battery? Any info would be appreciated.

Re: Service Vehicle Soon Light
The service vehicle soon (svs) lamp is related to a body issue. Like the service engine light is related to an engine issue. The only way i know of to read a body code is with a Tech 2. Most likely only a dealer is gunna have. But anyways, if you had a bulb out, or your drls werent working, or some interior lights werent working this may all turn the lamp on. Youd have to get the code and id give you some more help.

Re: Service Vehicle Soon Light
No Tom you would have to reset anything if on the SVS.
I had a tail light go out and threw the SVS. Also a bad ignition switch or a bad BCM can also throw the SVS. But yes to know for sure get it scanned with a capable scan tool.
