Which Subs to use?

I have a Kicker KX850.2 amp which I will be using bridged 850watts@4ohms.

These are my choices for subs that Im considering:

one Alpine Type-R 12"
or
one Kicker CVR 15"
or
one Kicker CVX 12"

This setup will be in a small 2 dr coupe, which setup will hit the hardest. Ive heard the Alpine Type-R's are the best subs and can take a beating. But can it beat out a kicker CVR thats 15"? Havent heard much about Kicker CVX's but apparently their kickers best round sub.

Re: Which Subs to use?

Re: Which Subs to use?

if you want the most bass and on a tight budget get the cvr.

if you want good sound quality and still be loud get the type r.

if you want the most bass, have more to spend, and dont care to much about sound quality get the cvx.

people always talk bad about kicker because it has poor sq. but they arent meant for sq. they are meant for affordable spl. i have 1 12" cvr and with my music up like 2/3 i cant even see out my rear view mirror.

Don't ever look at cars as just imports or domestics. Just because a car is made in a certain country doesn't mean that it is anything like another car from that country. An example of this is Mitsubishi reliability, just because they are Japanese doesn't mean that they are as reliable as a Honda or Toyota.

Re: Which Subs to use?

Well if it were me I wouldn't go with any of those and go with audioque sp 2.5. Those will pound great and still sound good and are better than both the alpine and kicker.

Re: Which Subs to use?

type r would be nice. But if you are open to options fi car audio is really nice and the price is not bad and they get darn loud... The fi car audio Q series would be really nice and its about the same price.

He asked about these subs that he's considering, so i assume he isn't open to other suggestions recent posters have listed.

Re: Which Subs to use?

SO you can recomend the audioque, and he cant say anything about the FI's.

Il bet my atlas would get louder. And if that doesnt im sure the 15" SX im about to pick up will be even louder. So stop with your BS and bashing on people.

I must have missed something if paul had to edit the post.

Like sickcallaway said hes basing this on stuff im assuming he can get easily. But suggestions are always good.
