signs u need a new clutch???

what are they?? the reason im wondering is because when i had my stock engine and tranny i would bearly have to tap on the clutch and i can shift gears. when i got my swap it was the same thing for about 2 weeks. now if i bearly push on the clutch it wont go in. i have to almost push it to the floor to change gears. does that mean i need a new clutch.

well, there is a couple of ways that i have used to tell if my clutch is going on me....or slipping. From a dead stop, let the clutch out slowly without giving it any gas. Watch the tach, and when the rpms dip a little then you know that you have reached the friction point (you may move forward a bit). If it reaches the friction point when the pedal is almost completely released (very high up)...then your clutch is probably going or you need to adjust it. To adjust it, you need to turn the black plastic adjustment knob on the clutch cable (right where it hooks on close to the transmission itself) clockwise, i think. If it is able to be turned in that direction, then turn it a couple of times and retest it like i described before. It should reach the friction point/engage sooner now.....if you were able to adjust it at all. Another way that you can tell if your clutch is going or slipping (this is by no means good for your car) is to power shift it (keep the gas pinned) into 2nd and listen to how many seconds it slips for. When my clutch was going i had somewhere between a 5 and 10 second slip...my clutch was pretty bad. well...i hope that this helped out some

You are supposed to push the clutch to the floor to change gears. Partially pushing the clutch in wears it out real quick.

Im thinking about welding the flywheel to the presure plate and hunting for the gear and to stop hmmm turn the motor off. put in gear and start it again to go. sounds good to me
