'04 Chevy Cavalier - Chrome Rims? [ANSWERED]

When I purchased this car, the guy said it had chrome rims, but after looking into it online I see there is two versions of this rim type, Brushed Aluminum and Chrome.

I, myself, wouldn't have the slightest clue. I didn't pay anymore for the car either way, just want to know which type they are.

Here's some pix:
Rim (Shows some rust/brake dust/dirt, whatever, on them. Won't come off with just water, will alittle bit, but not much. Bought some Chrome cleaner, haven't tried yet, one minor reason why I want to know if they are chrome or not, don't want to ruint hem if it's not chrome.):

Bad quality pix, both taken from cell phone.

Thanks in advance for any help,
- Dave

[Edit] - Instead of posting a new thread, and I already have pix on here, I have a new question on my last post.

Dirty chrome that will shine if you just use car wash soap and water, and some hard scrubbing, hehe, but if you bought the chrome cleaner, then that should work way better, these should shine after you are done with em... These are stock chrome rims...

All nice and clean, back two we not as dirty, the Front Right rim, was really, I'd say rusted up, but that's just brake dust I presume. (Twice as bad as the following pix.

Re: '04 Chevy Cavalier - Chrome Rims?

Instead of creating another thread, I'll reuse this one since I have pix already posted.

I had a rather noob question about the rims. Notice the clamp (dunno what exactly it's call) on the above picture. I have them on all but one of the rims, the front-right rim. Now question being, what is it? And what importance, if any, do they have?

Thanks in advance,
- Dave

Re: '04 Chevy Cavalier - Chrome Rims?

they are weights that balance the wheel and keep it from vibrating. the front right rim does not have one because it is balanced.

Makes sense if I would have thought about that more. Thanks for explaining.
