my local hobby shop arghgh

lo again all

im in my local hobby shop talking 2 the owner about paint. 1 he olny stocks this humbrol spray paint this stuff is as thick as tar. it takes covers all the detail in the models. secondy i asked him about polishing his cars 2 get rid of the orange peel efent and he says "he has never heard of that". so i looked in teh cabinet @ his models that he has done, wer dull paint work no shine. worst thing was the dood was not on the net so i could not show him the pics on this site. i would show him my work but its nto that good atm. any way feeling frusstrated tah i have 2 travel 50 miles 2 get suplies even though i live in comaprativly big city of swansea.

Another model shop owner who has no 'king clue! Where is this model shop - some small backwards country village?..."We don't get no orange peel 'round these parts" :smoka:

I guess this guy won't be winning any model comps!

thats why you have to get all your information from here. this forum has more experience than any hobby shop. come here first and then go shopping. you may not even have to leave your house to go shopping either since there are some online hobby shops that are cheaper and better than your local shop

Im really starting to wonder how some of these places manage to stay open with the amount of crap info they try and feed people

Yeah, but in some places you just don't have any choice. I live near a city with population of 560000, and there is only one hobby shop AFAIK.
