CRX vs Del Sol vs EG
so this is a CRX, Del Sol, EG comparison. I'm planning on using one of these as a project car and have good acess to each one. I was jw whish would be the best to get for a daily driver/autocross car. wat types of engine could i possibly put into each and wat would be the pros and cons of each different set up. also about how much do these weigh? and wat looks pretty sweet wen cleaned up? jw wat ppl have to say. so yea...

Re: CRX vs Del Sol vs EG
Man, it's all a matter of taste. The del sol is heavier and you can drop the same engine in the eg. I say eg all the way. I'm not sure of the weight on the crx but I know the eg is light on the scales. It will house anything from a 1.5 to a 2.2 prelude motor and probably bigger. I've seen one of these beefed up do an 11 second quarter. That's just nuts. That's like an F1 McLaren. The del sol is probably the fanciest looking one but there's no room inside of it plus it's heavy for it's size. I've had one and sold it to buy an eg. I'm much more satasfied with the eg. But like I said, to each his own.

Re: CRX vs Del Sol vs EG
^^^ Exactly. Weight wise, from heaviest to lightest; Del Sol>Civic>CRX. Otherwise it's all personal preference. There are just as many aftermarket parts, engine swaps, etc for one as the other.

Re: CRX vs Del Sol vs EG
how is the Del Sol the heaviest? is it just extra stuff or is it just a heavier chassis? just seems kinda wierd that something so small would be heavy. anyways... thanks for ya'll's responses.

Re: CRX vs Del Sol vs EG
the chassis, on the del is heavy because of the t-top so it has to have extra suporrt. but i would go eg. it weighs about 2100. the crx is a little lighter but looks like ass.. lol but the hx modle weighs in at like 1800. and you can put any motor in the eg, and it looks alot better too. lol but doing a full motor swap can be expensive. find an eg that already has a B or H series motor swap in it. its way easier that way

Re: CRX vs Del Sol vs EG
remember that if you're gonna autoX an engine swap might put you into a class you're not ready for...CRX for autox is my two cents, EG for daily and occasional track. I own an EG and i'm sold but I've seen wonders done with a CRX on the autoX

Re: CRX vs Del Sol vs EG
screw the del-sol they are heavy peices of s**t (plus its a girls car)id go for the hatch over all of them crx's are ugly but they are alot cheaper usally and lighter, (gut them out and they weigh practicly nothing, but if its going to be a mainly daily driver then id say the hatch again for sure... plus i think they are a little wider(not sure though)
