Angry Weird Beeping Noise

HELP !!!!!

I own a UK Primera 2.0 SRI, 1986.

It's developed a fault that shows itself by a beeping noise, i.e. a number of sequential bleeps, never the same number and at any time when driving.

Spoke to main dealer and usual response - give us the car for 2-3 days and we'll tell you what it is !!

Any ideas ???

where's the beeping coming from? any other sympoms??

There's only two things that beep (to my knowledge). One is the stereo and the other is the alarm system (which is a very high pitched wine, rather than a beep).

the stereo would make sense as it sounds as it's coming from the centre console area.

it is a beeping, although sometimes they run into each other.

any ideas why the stereo beeps ???

Is is a factory fitted job, or an aftermarket?

Nissan fitted serveral different types of stereo to their cars, so you'll need to know which one, or at least the make.

Couple of things to suggest anyway:

1. do you have a removable facia? If so, is it secure?? Does the radio cut out at all??

2. You may have dirty power (a supressor may have failed), which is causing the radio to swiftly loose and regain power.

3. I know some radios which beep when the RDS re-tunes.
