datsun 510

Just brought revells new datsun 510 model, which in aus is what we know as a datsun 1600, anyway was wondering if anyone else has done this model and wether they got tyres that are way to big for the rims too. you would think that in the 21st century revell could do a bit better than this. allthough i might be able to fix it with some tape around the rims before i put the tyres on, i hope. other than that a nice little car. regards Bob.

FINALLY SOMEONE ELSE HAS IT!!!

i have had the kit for like 3 months and its still sitting in the box..i gave up..i frigged up my air brush and i cant order new wheels for it

but yes the tyres are WAY too big for the dinky rims..you could think about ordering new rims for it..or

i was told you can put black electrical tape over the rim to make the tyre fit...but i havent tried it

good luck..lemme know how it turns ou

I have this model but have yet to even open the box, what aftermarket wheels would fit a Revell model?

yeah, he didnt even paint the window trim or the wipers. he didnt address the tire issue since he used fujimi wheels. i wouldn't want to buy one of those based on that review and those pictures.

That makes 6, the wheels are cool but yes the tires are friggin big. i didnt feel like fussing with the wheels so got a set of pegasus wheels and put them on. looks cool the grille was cut out, bumpers removed,Moonroof(the sliding ragtop is shit and it doesnt work) and its got the black 510 decals.

I guess i'll have to wait until i buy a revell car with two sets of wheels as i'm sure i can't order revell parts downunder, allthough once my modelling skills improve i might be able to use another brand of wheels or learn how to shrink the tyres that come with it.. As for it being very period i'd say more of a classic and one of the best rally cars ever built (at least ten years ahead of its self). as for now its joined the to build pile while i keep doing tamiya cars slowly but surely. Regards Bob.
