Can I unplug TCC?

I was told I can unplug the torque conv. switch on my Grand Am if it is not working properly.
If it has a round plug that is. Is that true? And is it on the top left side of the trans.?

Re: Can I unplug TCC?

Thanks for the web site! I had not seen it yet.
I did try unplugging the TCC today and it seems to stay in high gear all the time. Lots of slipping! I could shift manually but still not right. Made it easier to stop though!
