99 Ram 2500 360

My boss has a 99 Dodge Ram 2500 with a 5.9L. Thursday he was on his way to the shop and pulled up to a stop sign and it stalled, he said it seemed like it was out of gas but it still had 1/4 tank, well it wouldn't restart so he called the wifey and she was gonna bring him some gas and after about 5 minutes he could restart it he went back home put some gas in it and it was fine all day, then yesterday morning (friday morning) when he went to leave the house it would not start at all he could hear the fuel pump kick on but never checked for spark or anything he figured maybe the Ignition Coil went bad. The wife gave him a ride to work and later in the day he took the wrecker to go get the truck to bring it to the shop and when he got home the truck started right up so he left it home and this morning he brang the truck with him it started and ran fine, but we replaced the CPS anyways just incase that was the problem.

I just want some other opinion on what else it could be. I did replaced the CPS and it is running fine right now.

Well the CPS wasn't the problem, this morning when he tried to start it it wouldn't start again. He was gonna go home and tow it in but as soon as he checked it, it fired right up again (this was at about 10:30 this morning) and he didn't tow it in becuase he doesn't want to damage anything in the transfercase or anything I told him he should be fine but he would rather not do it if he doesn't have to.

any idea.

ok, so after work yesterday he went home got the truck and dropped it off at the shop, so we could check it out this morning. Well when I got to work we threw the spark tester on it and he cranked the enigne and it started right up.

I really can't check anything until it won't start, any idea would be appreciated.
