racing pros n cons
ever since i got my civic ive worried about the life of the engine i mean i dont want to be driving a year down the road taking oil and letting out clouds of smoke..
i pushed her to the limit tonight. saw what she got. i did 0 - 85 in a quarter mile. not sure how good that is but i know thats close to the best in a stock civic with a intake and exaust lol. anyways. now that ive made sure this thread wouldnt be deleted. how bad is racing for your engine. is it bad? or is driving through town at all the red lights for hours worse on it then the 20 seconds of letting your engine rip? what are the draw backs? what will it do long term to your engine.? |

Pushing the limits on any engine will stress it out over time. If you only race once in awhile, you're little Civic should last a good long while.

Yup, thatt's the way it goes. If you race every day, your engine will most likely do a little dance and fall out the bottom of your car a year from now but occasional stress isn't gonna kill it.

85 mph in the 1/4 is around a low 16 sec time.

also to help your engine run longer let the damn thing warm up first there are kids at my school who come out after school and start flying around the parking lot and the streets and i laugh because they will eventually kill their motors by doing that.

we were figuring how many seconds it took to go 85 in the 1/4 but i forgot about the 0-85 part... i figured if you were driving 85 how long would it take to go a 1/4 mile..
