4th Gen Lude VS Civic Si

Does anyone know what car is faster? A 4th gen si prelude, or a civic Si (such as a 99). They both have 160 hp stock. I am assuming a prelude vtec could, just wondering on how a si would match against one.:greenchai

i've killed plenty of civic si's with my 92 prelude si and i've only got tanabe exhaust. i beat my friends which has dc sports headers, dac intake, greddy exhaust, and a vortech fuel rail. as long as you get a nice start he'll never see nothin but ur tail lights.

u'll have launch on him, but u'd better hope for a bad driver. he weighs a lot less, an his VTEC is going to pull pretty tough on ur car. but it'll come down to driver, could go either way really.

well, stock vs stock, both manual, i would say civic. 2 reasons, vtec and lighter. i guess it depends most on the driver and si can go up to 6.5 rpm so of course hes gonna shift at 6, like i would. i got a 95 prelude si myself.

he was referring to the prelude si, not the civic.

here's a thought...

111 tq vs about 150. hmm...

i'm pretty sure the lude will get him, as my 3gen can keep up with 99-00 si's.

I have a 94' Prelude Si and went up against a 99' Honda civic Si, I smoked him by at least a car and a half. And I had a stock clutch.

I would have to so its gonna be close, but the prelude. Civic is lighter but the prelude has like 45 lbs of torque on the Civic...V-tec or not, they have the same HP, so that shouldn't matter...

read wut u jus said..."it is lighter...both have same hp." that torque isn't going to matter that much (if it were a bigger difference in torque, then yes it would, an the lude will beat it off the line), but the lighter car w/ the same power will be able to pull on it once they start goin.

I'm not sure who would win, I've yet to race one...a lot of preludes seem to beat them, including my buddy in is 92 si prelude...I just made a point that civics lack torque - I used to have one, it was cool once you got going, but the low end was horrible cause lack of torque...
