Trouble closing convertable top

I am having trouble closing my convertable top, sometimes it is extremely simple and other times I am just struggling to get it to latch. Someone told me it was because I had opened it once when it was damp and that caused the problem but I have had the same problem even on a dry day and cannot figure out what I am doing wrong. The car did not come with a manuel so I don't even know the simplest of care for a convertable so any advice would be helpful. It's a '93 Labaron.

Re: Trouble closing convertable top

HI ! first place I woud start is WD 40 all pivot joints while top is up and check to see if top connection to body at rear is tight. also check limit switch to see if its not loose both are in trunk area behind back seat. Does not sound like problem is as you have been told or else problem would be every time sounds more like top not repeating closing sequence or is binding... new tops sometimes do not repeat till steached by wear and use.. while I am not an expert top person I own a couple and have had a couple in the past. have had to do some adjustments and repair myself but found the enjoyment is worth the effort and time to learn..... good luck.
