99 suburban gas filling problem
Hi I recently purchased a 99 gmc suburban and I am having a problem putting gas in. When you start pumping, it shuts off really quick. The only way to get gas in is to pump really, really slow, and still it shuts off as if the tank is full . Has anyone else had this problem? I thought I had seen it all with my 92 suburban. Thanks

Re: 99 suburban gas filling problem
Had that problem with another car, there was a problem flapper valve down the filler tube towards the tank itself. It was taken care of by a shop so I don't have first hand knowledge but they had to replace the filler tube.
Hope this helps. |

Re: 99 suburban gas filling problem
Try pulling out the nozzle a little wile pumping instead of having it all the way in..

Re: 99 suburban gas filling problem
If that does not get it.
You may have to pull filler hose to tank and repair the small hose inside the big hose or replace filler hose assembly.
