Had Masserati for dinner.

Another night, another run.....this time its one worth mentioning.
I see a guy in a large coupe swinging in and out of lanes down the road and it looked kinda fast and made a nice sound so I figured I'd go after it.

a few miles later I catch up and the guy just dossent seem interested, just keeps driving like an ass but a few blocks later we catch a light. (okay I forced my way in front of a van and got next to him).
Its a white Masserati spyder coupe.
The dude looks over and actually says "donteven try it kid your noth worth the time".
Light goes green and I launch noice! (I usually roll off and get on it after a few feet).
I pull but as I hit 2nd he matches me. We're neck and neck through 2nd as I watch the rev needle climb quickly to 6K and beging to think this might not of been a good idea. I shift to 3rd and I fall back a few feet, before my mind can register the fact that Im loosing the power kicks in nice and hard and I sling shot a full car. (3rd gear is the slaughter gear on this car, its rough, carries enourmous power and lasts longer then 1st and 2nd.)
Im so involved in the moment that I forget to look at the revs andshift almost late. By 4th were doing over 110 mph in a small two lane road with an intersection quickly approaching but Im a full car and a half ahead. just as Im about to call quits and brake he lets off and falls way back. Im thinking awsome, no last minute fly by bullshit.

At the next light he pulls up and me being the bigger man give him a thumbs up. He lowers the window and in a bitter tone says "you must of spend alot of money on that piece of shit."

me: Well its not stock but quite frankly its got almost nothing done, just an intake and exhaust....still that was a good distance, even stock it would of pulled on you".

him: yeah sure bro, whatever lets you sleep at night.

*light turns green but he dossent notice*

me: oh Im gonna sleep real well tonight son! I got a good story to tell in the morning.
him: oh that you actually beat a Masserati.
me: oh no no no, that I ran into a guy who thought Masseraties where actually fast! no one is gonna believe that shit!

I take off again and gun it. Home boy never caught me and after 5 blocks gave up and dissapeared into my rear view.

Re: Had Masserati for dinner.

Why is everyone spelling Maserati wrong? Did I miss something?

I love how the cars look, but I've heard they arn't very good performance cars for the price. Great cars if you are trying to stand out a little more then a 911. Just because its Italian doesn't mean its a Ferrari.

The Maserati Coupe is getting pretty old now- this is what the new one is going to look like

Re: Had Masserati for dinner.

Maserati. Because sometimes even Porsche owners need to look like decent human beings.

No, seriously. I know three people that own Ferraris, all three are real chill guys, the kind you can just kick back with and hang out and even though they drive a 200K car, they are real friendly cuz they have nothing to prove. Most Maserati owners realize they are driving the "Poor Man's Ferrari", so they need to be huuuuuge cock smokes about it.

I was in a parking lot once that had a 430, so I was taking a few pictures of it, and the owner came out and we ended up talking about his car for about an hour. I took a picture of a Spyder in a parking lot, the owner saw it, and wanted to take away my camera and sue me.

Re: Had Masserati for dinner.

not a fan of maserati's at all. Like everyone has said, they just seem to be an extension of the penis, and the owner's seem to be real jerks. For the money they cost, they aren't that fast, I would take a porsche, an aston martin, or an m5.

Good kill mush, put the dicks in their place...behind you?

sorry had to, but seriously, good job

Re: Had Masserati for dinner.

Ehh, that's too funny. I've actually had people try to race me in a lamborghini, but i'm too fearful of cops on the streets, and with California's strict laws on racing, it's not like i'm gonna risk having my baby slaughtered to bruise an ego.

Hope that Maserati owner gets smoked by another, less superior automobile. Dude sounds like a dork. I would've just told him the car was stock, and acted like I wondered what he was talking about.

I don't really favor the looks of the Maseratis, but it looks alright IMHO.
Going to the New York Auto Show today, possibly.
They were suppose to have the new coupe there on the show floor, along with many other cars.
Nonetheless to say, I can't wait.
