Putting 951 engine in 944

Hello, I would really appreciate it if someone could tell me what would be involved in putting a 951 engine in a 944 NA car. What all would need to be different, the engine would go in but could the clutch and tranny be use off the 944. How about the fuel system, would i need the pressure regulaters, pumps, injectors off the turbo engine also? How about the computers, i would need a klr and probably the turbo dme. Would i also need all the other electric sensors in the engine from the turbo? Please help, Thanks

John

Re: Putting 951 engine in 944

I have done this install on a few 944s...its one of the more difficult engine transplants to do. First off the engine clutch and flywheel will all xfer from the turbo-non turbo cars however i would recomend a new clutch and lighter flywheel when u do the swarp (eases the strain on tranny if you arnt switchin that). you woul need the computer systems and a complete wiring harness from a turbo. The wiring harness would need to be modified to allow your lights to work...you would also have to rewire some of your fuse box relays and fuses. If you arnt knowledgable with major mechanical work I would strongly recomend you get a proffesional to do this... Also the dash would need to be rewired or else you wont get rpm and boost to show up. I can/would be able to do such a swap and or any performance modifiaction if you want...let me know your location I am the owner of MANSTEIN PERFORMANCE reach me at [email protected]
