Re: I have raised suspension about 2 inches. How much it will cost me to get it back...

It all depends on what was done to lift it. Quadratec.com has all of the stock parts you need. Here are some tips to check stock vs lift kit:

Front

Check the front springs for a thick coil spring spacer. If you don't have the spacer, it probably has a longer spring. With a 2" lift, you may get away with using the same shocks going back to stock. It all depends on who made it.

Stock spring: $30/each
Stock spacer: $5/each
Shocks: $28/each

Rear

Check for aftermarket shackles on the leaf springs. Also check for an add-a-leaf. Finally check to see if someone put a block under the leaf pack. If none of the above, you may have have an aftermarked leaf spring.

Leaf spring: $52/each
Shackle: $13/each
shocks: $28/each

That's about $312 + shipping going back to stock.

Re: I have raised suspension about 2 inches. How much it will cost me to get it back...

I hate it. Not good for towing. It will take me all day to replace or $300 min to pay somebody. Hopefully when I sell Jeep it will give me extra money. Label on truck: "Rusty's off road products" Front spring label "Rusty 300". Rear spring doesn't spacers, so no luck for me. I would find some later Jeep, but I want manual transmission. Is there Grand Cherokee with manual tr.?

Cool Re: I have raised suspension about 2 inches. How much it will cost me to get it back.

Leave it. Two inches is only one inch over the "up country" suspension option.

Towing is a good reason to have it..cause the rear is going to drop. Unless the owner took out the rear anti-sway bar, it is going to be same as stock. Better shocks are probably what you need to stiffen it up when towing.

Different strokes for different folks. When I was in China, they call the first class part of the train the "soft class". Here in the states, it is just the "rich class".

One more thing, if it was lifted without an alignment, the caster angle is going to be less. Have it increased and it will be just like stock.

[See my avitar? That is a 2" lift....and it works better than stock IMHO]

Re: I have raised suspension about 2 inches. How much it will cost me to get it back...

If the springs say Rusty 300, those are the 3" lift springs so youve probably got closer to 3" of lift and not 2". If you sell it as is, it probably wont bring much, if any, more money than it would stock.

You probably wont find a manual shift Grand Cherokee. Rumor has it they made then a couple years but Ive never seen one or heard of anyone that has one. Good luck with that.
