97 GMC Sierra v8 5.7 Battery amps

Please let me know if there is a specific number of cold cranking amps for the replacement battery for GMC Sierra. I am having a problem with possible the battery maybe the starter. I replaced with battery from Walmart they said it was the right one 640 amps the one they took out was 850. It seems to still be making the same noise kinda of a slight whinning noise as the day goes on and I have to start it agian almost like it's a weak battery. any help appreciated. thanks,

A good rule of thumb is the minimum starter draw equals half the cubic inches of the engine. I.E. 350 CI = 175 CCA@12+Volts. Better batteries have the ability to (push&flow) more amps. Your walmart 650 should be more than enough.
