help!! 96 tacoma, retrieving dtc
i wanna know how to retrieve dtc manually. i can see the plugin in the engine bay, but i need to know what pins i jump together or anything like that. i can probably find out what the codes mean, i just need to know how to retrieve it and clear it. my engine light's been on for a while now. thanks

If you live near an Auto Zone why don't you go there? They check for free...at least around the Detroit area they do. Or just by a scanner. Its more accurate.

yea, but scanners are expensive as heck..not only that, if i dont get the right one then it'll just waste money...do autozone really check dtc for free? hmm...

All the ones around Detroit do. Call em and ask. Some try to tell u that ur check engine light has to be on but thats not true. Even if it comes on and then goes off, the code will be stored. Good luck.

Most auto parts stores will check DTCs for free, and tell you what they mean.
