That's a good point. A non-English speaker could easily make a spelling mistake; God knows enough English speakers can't spell worth a damn.

I'd be interested to see if it turns up on numerous pieces of furniture; if it's just on the one then it's a slur.

Actually I was referring to just this year (2007). I'm sure if you researched the incidents similar to this from the time of slavery's beginnings you'd be quite amazed at the number of "reported" incidences.
