Question about the factory stereo

I'm driving a 2004 trailblazer with just a stock stereo. It has a cd player, but I notice on the cd button, it also says "aux". Is there a way to hook an mp3 player to the stereo? I was hoping there would be some plugs in the back of the stereo that would enable me to run a wire from the back of the stereo to my mp3. Anybody know if this is possible? If so, how do I get to the back of the stereo? Thanks for any info.

Re: Question about the factory stereo

Sorry, no connection in the back for a mp3 player. Would be nice though huh? I have seen a kit you can plug between the factory radio plug and the back of the radio that would allow you to connect a mp3 player, but I have only seen them in customers vehicles. Not sure where to send you, I just know they are out there.

Re: Question about the factory stereo

There are kits out there that you can hook up into the radio's harness and use an auxiliary input. I think for Trailblazer's, this input would be the one for XM, as the head unit doesn't support external CD changers. However, since yours says 'aux' on the CD button (you don't have a cd/tape combo), things might be a bit different, but I doubt it. I do have an input box, but I use it on my Intrigue (which has GM's older E&C bus radio). However, it does have dip switches that can be set to GM's Class 2 interface, but I never tried it on my Trailblazer.
