I have had my wrangler x for about 3 years now, this x-mas i put on some bigger tires, nothing crazy just some 31x10.50's, the other day i was pulling out of a parking lot with the window open and heard a "squeak" it was almost the equivilant to having a little bit of brake dust on my breaks, but it was happening when the tires were rolling and had nothing to do with the breaks. when i got home i jacked up the jeep and pulled teh front drivers wheel off and when i turned the hup i noticed taht the noise seemed to be coming from the front drive shaft. there are not marks on the shaft nothing seems to be wrong, i noticed a little leak at teh transfer case. so to get to teh main point i brought it to the dealor to see about warranty, and as always the dealor could not hear the problem, they did however notice the leak at teh transfer case and replaced teh pinion seal so the leak is gone but i still have the squeak... anyone think its anyhting to worry about? could have been tehre for a while just happened to notice it becuase teh radio was off and window was down? any input will be appreciated

Re: Need Help Weird Noise From Drive Train
Search for "angry sparrows" and see if the description sounds like what you are hearing.

Re: Need Help Weird Noise From Drive Train
Sounds like it might the u-joints in your front axle shafts. Does the noise happen all the time or only when you turn?

Re: Need Help Weird Noise From Drive Train
It will start to happen only when it turns but if it gets worse it will do it all the time.
Check for any play in your axle shaft u-joints. If you can move them at all, and I mean at all, they need to be replaced. Easy job.
