so many heads to choose from
ITT I would like to hear the pros and cons of which head to mate to my B18B block for a good LS/Vtec engine. I have access to a professional shop since I do not have the proper tools. What I am looking for in the end is a combination with keeping the LS compression and high boost and making it as close to 10-seconds as possible in the 1/4mile over a long period of time.

Re: so many heads to choose from
If you're seriously looking for a 10-second car, there are quite a few things you need to think about. First you'll need to build the short block up; pistons, rods, rod bolts, sleeves. Then there's the head. Your best bet is to use a B16A, B18C (type R), or B16B (civic type R) head. This is simply for the fact that they all share the same intake manifold flange, and the aftermarket IM's are usually a little cheaper than the GS-R ones (supply & demand). But other than that, it won't make much of a difference between those heads because you'll need to P&P it, upgrade the valvetrain and cams to get that kind of power anyways.
