Hoping someone out there may have some advice. We bought a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee V6 used before moving to Paraguay. The Jeep has had a strange rattle in the rear which the wonderful road conditions here has only seemed to worsen. When up on the jack nothing rattles. Any ideas? The other fun is it has now decided it just won't start! Was running a little rough in idle a few days ago. Go out this morning, and it will turn over but acts like it is not getting any gas. Checked the fuses, changed spark plugs, still nothing. Any and all advice welcome as we have not been able to get a manual on the Jeep to date.

Re: 2004 Grand Cherokee Problems
Can you hear the fuel pump prime when you first turn the key? (It'll be a whirring noise when you first turn the key)
As far as the rattle goes, does the muffler have any play in the mounts? Even if you can't get it to rattle when up on jacks, the fantastic road conditions your describing may be enough to get the exhaust to smack something. |

Re: 2004 Grand Cherokee Problems
Thanks to all on this site, both those that replied and those that have posted elsewhere on this site. We were able to narrow down the problem, get a diagnostic from the Jeep itself (from advise on a different post) and now have the Jeep in the shop, praying it will not take too long to locate a Crank something sensor! Being in South America with an American spec vehicle this may be the most daunting task but at least we knew what to tell the mechanic to avoid a lot of expensive checking.
