Re: Aoshima Toyota AE86 Trueno with Gr.A engine
Not sure if this is the one you mean but here's a pic of the completed 4A-GEU engine
http://www.hlj.com/product/AOS03674 ![]() There's also the initial D version: http://www.hlj.com/product/AOS03921 which includes an AE101 engine - basically it's the same block but with a different engine cover, open pulleys & 4 carb set up - I've got one but haven't started it yet. Cheers Andy

![]() There are at least two differences: the engine comes without engine cover, and closed pulleys. Any Toyota experts could give me an answer? Last edited by ravaglia; 04-12-2007 at 09:58 PM. |

Re: Aoshima Toyota AE86 Trueno with Gr.A engine
The real 20-valve engine has a completely different head, with the distributer relocated to the back of the head, behind the camshaft on the exhaust side.
To modified the engine from the Aoshima kit you can do either of the following: - move the distributer to the back of the head and make a clearance in the firewall for that - scratchbuild the front cover, and have the distributer poke through it on the exhaust side ![]() - run an aftermarket ignition system |
