Re: How to use tamiya compound
You will use the compound after your final coat has dried, and you have possibly wet-sanded. I use part of an old t-shirt and put a dab of compound on it. Then I start rubbing in a circular motion with the hood and roof first. When the compound hazes, you will add more to a new part of the rag and continue the steps. Be careful on sharp edges as it can burn through your paint and then you will be pissed.

Re: How to use tamiya compound
Dont use an old t shirt!!! It will leae terrible swirl marks in your paint! Use proper polishing cloths.

Enzo...I am not knockin' your approach. But, I have had problems with this. Just looking out. I just happen to use those "static" polishing cloths. They work amazing. I got them from www.autogeek.net great stuff. Just my 2 cents

Re: How to use tamiya compound
I rub in a circular motion but have been told its best to rub in a straight line because the circular motion leaves the swirls. Honestly though, I havent found any problems with my method. I made a thread about a month ago regarding wet sanding. Feel free to take a look at what some of the guys posted there. I accidently rubbed paint of while wet sanding (first time doing)and wanted to go back and repaint the model. At this moment I'm letting the paint cure a few more weeks while I practice how to spray clear over decals without harming them.
