Stun guns

I am looking into purchasing a stun gun. I am looking into a 800,000 volt one. Is that many volts truly necessary to knock someone on their ass? I am not looking to purchase for anyone inparticular...just safety. If anyone one has experience with these...please let me know!

Re: Stun guns

I've been zapped by 300,000 volt ones on several occasions, they won't literally knock you down but you will definately involuntarily move away from them. That combined with the shock/confusion factor should be plenty to allow you to escape from most situations.
I'd prefer pepper spray though.

Re: Stun guns

I purchased a 900,000 volt gun. Should be arriving shortly! It says on the site that it is used for military/police use. And yes, pepper spray would be a wise purchase as well.

-Chris BTW....I originally posted this in Completly Off Topic. I have no clue what happened. I was trying to look for it there last night, and no luck....huh....weird.

Re: Stun guns

Don't police use 50,000 volt guns? And those work pretty good. Sounds like 800,000 is overkill.
I would like to be shot by one someday though. Just sounds like a nice experience.

Re: Stun guns

Well, just because one has more voltage doesn't mean it passes more current, but they're typically advertised as some voltage amount.

Re: Stun guns

Who might be the lucky recipient of 900K volts to the ribs in 5-7 business days?

Schoolyard bully?
Guy scheming on your chick?
Good natured fun with the mailman???
