Getting rid of emissions?!?!
So Illinois is finally getting rid of emission testing for cars 95 and older. I read it in the paper but it didn't make a lot of sense. 33% of cars that failed on the dyno tester were older than 1995. Od to take it away then. Anyone have any more information on this? The article was brief and said nothing.
So I was actually happy about this. Bye bye EGR system. Now question though. My car is a 1995, but it's OBDII. When I went to get it tested last year, I pulled into the 1996+ bay and they said nothing. So now, where do I fit into this? Does this mean I don't have to go anymore? Or since it's OBDII do I still have to go? Any ideas? I'm pretty siked about this. I may lose my cat too.

Re: Getting rid of emissions?!?!
It's only dependant on the year. You will probably still have to go through the visual inspection, but in PA, that's just for holes in the exhaust, visable smoke, etc.

Re: Getting rid of emissions?!?!
You can't get an OBDI 420a motor. But if it says 1995 and older don't need emissions and you drive a 95, I'd say fuck Illinois, don't get it tested, they printed the damn article themselves.
