Looking for a car....

Hey,
In a couple of months I am going to be running into a pretty nice income, and the first thing I need to get is a car. I have been looking around trying to figure out what to get for a few months now and I have looked at everything from a Civic to a Lightning, and right now I am looking at a '01 prelude. I am trying to get something that will be reliable and fast, it doesnt need to be the most modifiable car in the world, so long as it doesnt need to be modified much. I also don't want to go too far out of range on the price, I am looking to spend probably no more than $28,000 on it(there went the lightning!), but that number can be moved around a little. Any help? Thanks!

Just to clarify, the speed thing is very important, I want to get the car running at least 13.5s quarters.

If your on speed and a mid 20K budget - think a 01 WS6

if you've got 28k to blow
i would suggest a 00 or 01 S2000...
it's got the speed you want..
but i would like a lightning ..
