Curb damage

Ok heres the deal, I was taking a right turn way too fast(with a large median thing separating the turning lane from where i was turning from) and my 99 venture hopped the curb on the front left wheel while i was turnign at 20 mph. It cut up my tire and my rim, but my biggest worry is that I messed up something else because there is a squeaking noise when i make a turn. Anyone know what I should do?

Re: Curb damage

Hard to tell without hearing it but i would give it a good visual for anything obviously bent or rubbing, including the rim. If you dont see anything a wheel alignment from a reputable shop might be the answer. If something is bent it will show when doing the alignment. Good luck.

Re: Curb damage

Things that could have been damaged would be bearing, CV joint, tie rod end, steering mechanism, strut bearing, or control arm ball joint. I don't know the details of the impact but depending on the position of the wheel when you hit the curb, the shock could have broken, or at least damaged something. As tepco said, I'd take it to a shop that does alignment work and they should be able to tell you if there is something wrong. At a minimum you probably should get a realignment when you get your wheel replaced.
