TPS Adjustment
Hello, On my 93 escort gt 1.8l tried to adjust the TPS voltmeter reading were .62 at idle with key in run position engine off and around 3.8v WOT so i moved the sensor as far as it will go and now at idle it reads .97. at idle position but at WOT it is only 4.20v. I was reading somewhere that at idle it should be around 1.0v and between 4.5-5.0v max at WOT. Now when it is idling it idles at 1200 rpms and can't get it any lower do i need a new TPS?

Re: TPS Adjustment
I would remove the sensor and check the range again.
Make sure you don't have a vacuum leak somewhere. Check the idle control valve. Hopefully no one has upset the throttle stop screw setting. If so, remove the throttle body and hold up to sunlight as you re-adjust ... you should see the barest of halos around the throttle edge when plate is in closed-position. |

Re: TPS Adjustment
Okay checked the throttle stop screw seems okay i can just slide a .002 feeler gauge under the throttle plate. I couldn't find any vacuum leaks. When engine is running i unpluged the IAC and the idle does come down quite a bit, checked the volts again at the tps still .96 at closed throttle and 4.19 at WOT. Car runs good down the road but still idles high. Does anyone know what the specs. are for the tps voltage on this 93 gt 1.8

Re: TPS Adjustment
Throttle position idle = 0.5 volts
Throttle position wot = 3.7 volts Voltage values may vary + - 15% Quote:
