Question high idle

my fiero is idleing high... starts out at 2.5 rpm then as it warms up it lowers and stops about 1.5 rpm. it runs this way till it gets hot then when you push you gas it boggs out like its choking and wont go any faster than the idle... the computer is not pulling anything up but i think i have a vacuum leak but not sure... cant tell from the leak in the exhust manifold leak because the bolt broke off in the head... ... any input would be apreciated

wires are good. plugs... been a year... fuel pressure to be checked tomorrow. fuel filter was replaced a year ago... air filter is a k&n might need recharged.. but dont think its bad. dis rotor was replaced year ago along with timing. the cap was replaced at the same time.

Re: high idle

My '88s doing that now... It starts right up and idles at 2200rpm. It warms up after about 7-8 minutes then goes to 1300. Once it does this it sets a code 35. Yup, sounds all too familiar. Unfortunately for me the EGR tubes for '88s are no longer available. My original broke 11 years ago and I've had an '85- '87 donor EGR tube since and now I believe it's finally cracked. Can't complain about how long it's lasted...

Anyway, my spring project is to replace all my vacuum lines. I bought the Rodney Dickman stainless steel lines that run under the upper intake plenum(my originals are 19 years old, plastic, and very brittle), new AC Delco vacuum canister, rubber tubing where needed, and Fiero Store's flexible braided steel EGR tube. I'll let everyone know how it works out in a couple weeks.
