Help With Part
I have a 2004 Rodeo and am trying to replace the Fuel Filter. I thought this would be easy, but it is far from it! The fuel line has a quick connect on it. When I removed the old filter, there were 2 blue washer like fittings that broke. When I went to the Autoparts store, they have no such washers. I even went as far as going to a local dealership with no luck. They did order a new Fuel Filter which may or may not have this fitting. At first, he ordered a new gas line. It did not have the washers I needed. Does anyone know where I can find such an item?? Thank you in advance for any help!!!

Re: Help With Part
We need more info like year, model, engine, etc.
You can go to www.myisuzuparts.com and look at the parts diagrams and see if its listed there.

Re: Help With Part
It is a 2004 Isuzu Rodeo with a 3.2 V 6 2WD. I have looked at my Isuzuparts.com with no luck. This is becoming a real PITA. The diagrams show the fuel line as a quick connect, but do not show the part that I am inquiring about. Thanks again for any help.

Re: Help With Part
Did you get the new fuel filter yet? If washers are required I would think that it should come with them.

Re: Help With Part
I had the dealer order one. It seems as if the dealer and every local auto parts store has a different number than the one it came off of. The Isuzu dealer ordered a different filter so I shall wait and see. In the mean time, I am going to the Honda dealer tomorrow with hopes of luck on that end of things. Thanks again!

Re: Help With Part
you've been given some pretty good advice to go to the isuzu parts site, which easily provides the part number for you year, model. you won't have luck at Honda because they stop at 2002 and that is a different partnumber.
you wouldn't say so i assume you have the isuzu 6VD1 or 6VE1 DOHC engine. http://www.myisuzuparts.com/part_inf...=8-25121-074-0 what part numbere did the dealer order for you? you are making this more complicated than it is for your information here is a honda online parts site http://www.slhondaparts.com/ //bc

Re: Help With Part
I do appreciate all of the help that has been given and am not trying to make this more complicated than it is. The engine is a DOHC, I apologize for not being more specific.
I have went to the Isuzu parts site and it is not as easy as everyone claims. Unfortunatelly I do not have the part number that he has ordered. I did call Isuzu directly today and was I surprised that the only help they could provide is for me to call a dealership in MO. The parts guy was very helpful and assures me the part I am in need of will be attached to the Fuel Filter itself. I am doubtful, but optimistic. Thank you again for all of the assistance. |

Re: Help With Part
yeah on www.myisuzuparts.com i won't claim it's all that easy, just all that good. but the fuel filter *is* easy to find there. click <year, <vehicle, <engine, <fuel filter and you will get the illustration and a whole list of parts, applications etc.
the dealer in MO is stcharlesisuzu which many of us use with excellent results. they give internet discount, free shippiing, no tax, etc. and ask for Merlin, he's worth the wait, very knowledgeable and helpful. they just have the parts shipped direct from one of the isuzu parts distribution centers. you could even call him to ease your mind, he'd understand i bet. here's the link with the call info http://isuzu.stcharlesauto.com/Department-Parts.aspx good luck, let us know //bc

Re: Help With Part
Pay No Attention To The Stupid Blue Washer Looking Thing They Are Used In Assembly They Start Off In The End Of The Fuel Line And When The Lines Are Installed On The Filter They Pop Out Of Them I Am Guessing That They Are Used As Avisual For Proper Installation

Re: Help With Part
Just be sure to pull the fuel pump fuse, start the engine, and let it run out of gas. Then open the filler cap. This will relieve most of the pressure. Make sure the 2 eared clips click in right, put the fuse back in, close the cap, start it, and check for leaks. I think 2eye is right I saw the blue thingies on all the little clips on my 04. Andie
