Rear end conversion

I have a 1975 Nova with the L6 auto. Im going to be putting a 425+ hp 350 in soon and im not sure what to do about the rear end. I have been told a ford 9" will work and that that is the best alternative. Im looking for a cheap reliable solution to positraction problems.

I've used a Ford 9" rear under a few Novas. There is no real cheap way to do it since the conversion should be done by a competent fabrication shop. You'll also want the axles swapped out or drilled for the Chevy bolt pattern. If you can find a good used Ford posi unit, that will save some bucks.

An alternative is to pick up a 12 bolt Nova rear, which will bolt right in and save the fabrication costs. I'd suggest after market axles and a c-clip eliminator kit for it.

Whatever you decide on, spend your money ONCE. Do it right the first time. If you have a local speed shop, many of they have a bulletin board where people post things for sale or swap. You might get lucky.
