1997 Fuel gauge
I would like to know if anybody knows how to trouble a fuel gauge .The fuel gauge in my 1997 Astro van is acting up on a full tank it reads full.On a half tank it also reads full or an 1/8 less than full.Does anybody have any expertise in this field.

Its probably not the gauge. It may be the sending unit, which I believe is a whole unit with the pump, inside the tank.
The sending units have little metal "teeth" on them that contact a little electronic board. These little teeth have a tendancy to break off and screw stuff up. You have to pull the tank and check it out. Hope that helps

MOst late model sending unit are now serviceable by themselves at a fraction of the cost.
