Knight Rider - KITT Auction

KITT from Knight Rider is for sale, i've seen hundreds of replicas from obsessed fans so i'm sure someone will snap this up but what a rip off. Its one of 4 camera cars and the guy wants like 150k.

The thing isn't even street legal, and does absolutely nothing. Previous owned spent 10 years trying to find parts to restore it.

Yea, they say it isnt street leagal due to emissions, but most of the mid west doesnt have emissions, so why wouldnt it be street leagal?

It doesn't say he tried to find parts over the last decade, it says he has been finding parts over the last decade. I figured an auto enthusiast as yourself (a former TA owner no less) would understand some people's dream cars, however weird they may be. Consider it an auto fetish.

One man's meat is another man's poison. I wouldnt buy it, buy I'm sure a die-hard Kitt fan would.

I'm sure the reason he has been finding parts over a decade is because its hard to come by the authentic parts he needs, that is why I said he has been trying for a decade. As for my trans am, the reason it was sold was because I thought it was my dream car and turned out to be satans play thing. If KITT was my dream car I could build one for under 15k instead of 150k, but than again i'm not a rich man so I don't dream of buying cars just to collect them in my garage.

Its not street legal because it has a two gallon fuel tank and universal removed the VIN numbers off the camera cars. They have some prop ID in the place of the vin, i'm sure theres other reasons but those are two that I am aware of besides the emissions.

I'm trying to get my company to buy it for our on-site car... but I don't think it's going to happen.

I'd rather have the bat mobile. It does all the same stuff and more as Kitt... Plus you don't have to listen to its opinion on everything.

Damn, that's a little much for a car with a whole lot of buttons, that don't trigger anything...
I guess it's the history of the car. Hehe.

For the record,
I wouldn't get it.

Ever.
