buy/borrow CAM LOCKERS

hey guys. i got a 60k maint coming up. Wondering if anyone here has a set of cam lockers they're looking to sell, or possibly let me borrow/rent for the job.

i would just pick up a set new, but 60 bucks seems steep for a couple chunks of plastic, that im really only gonna need maybe 2 times in my life.

Re: buy/borrow CAM LOCKERS

Dude just make them yourself. That is what I did. Get a long threaded piece of metal that two nuts can tighten down on and then find to pieces of rubber that are say about 2"x2" and just slice the rubber so it is in the shape of a triangle and put one on the bottom and one on the top and then put the nuts behind them and tighen them in there. Ended up costing me a breath taking $2-3.

Yeah there are a few threads on 3si (I think) with instructions for making your own at Home Depot. SL, mind posting a pic or 2 of yours?

Re: buy/borrow CAM LOCKERS

you can make em cheap. i bought some, though. they are AWESOME. definitely save a LOT of time when messing with the t-belt. plus, it prevents the front cams from jumping...when that happens it can be scary. once, when the front cams jumped, i had a wrench on there, and it flew off hitting the strut tower, then did a ricochet and flew in the opposite direction...all this happened in about 1.5 secs.

tools can be expensive, but when they are, you know they are high quality, precision made, and will do the job right, everytime.
