Broken Bolt Extraction
What's the best way to remove a broken bolt?
One of my lower intake manifold bolts is broken off flush in the cylinder head. The only thing i can think of is left handed drill bits. Any suggestions? |

Re: Broken Bolt Extraction
You can use an extrctor to get it and stay away from the spiral ones. The spiral extractors expand the broken bolt too much. The straight fluted extractors are the best ones, they do the opposite what the spiral ones do.Here is another way do it,if you know someone that welds very good and I will explain it.Weld a course 3/8" nc 16 nut on the broken bolt if you can and try to remove with a very good 9/16" wrench or socket
