Question Crankcase volume

Hello, I have recently purchased a '99 P71 with a lot of miles. It didn't come with the owners manual of corse, so my question is how many quarts the 4.6 takes. Also any recomendations for oil/filter would be nice too
Thanks
BTW, have any of you guys put on the K&N intake kit on this beast? How does it sound?

Re: Crankcase volume

5 quarts with filter change. I have always used Fram orange can filters without any issues. You might also find an advantage using a bottle of lucas engine oil treatment with your oil changes, since your car has high miles. Don't waste your money on the K&N kit, their filters are oil filled and this will gum up your MAF sensor triggering your check engine light.
