Re: shock or cushion like spring that conects on the underside of the back I NEED HEL
On Neons with manual transmissions, there is a 'Power Hop Damper' on the transmission near one of the axle shafts. In my 97 the Neon Service Manual it looks like a tiny shock absorber. Removing it means working with dirt falling in your face. The manual says you can remove the top damper bracket -if necessary-, which usually means it is necessary - because of limited access down there. When you put it back in, tighten all bolts to 40 ft-lbs.

Yup Power op Damper or Bobble Strut (your choice of symantics) it is designed to stop wheel hop. Several after market ones out there, in fact A/FX as one with adjustable pre-load

Why do you want to put a new one in?
