Radiator sealer?

What does everyone think of that stuff that you supposedly pour into your radiator and it seals leaks throughout the cooling system? is it just for the radiator or can it seal other parts of the cooling system as well? my radiator is only a few months old so i know thats where im not losing coolant from.

Not to be stuiped but did you check the main things like oil, floor board, leaking in driveway?

My buddy used it and it worked thats all i can say about it really i would just find the problem and fix it you know might be simple???

yeah i havent seen any external leaks under the car or on the floorboard, only when theres pressure in the system thats when its seems to be losing coolant

Stuff is engine death in can. By design, it plugs things, and when it can't find your leak, it will plug what ever it can when it finds a place to gather, so water jackets, throttle body lines, heater cores, etc.

You can get a dye kit, even 'high tech' UV and pressure test the system to find the leak.

yeah thats what mostly concerned me is i dont want it plugging something its not supposed to of course.

Actually, GM puts their seal tabs in every new car, and it only solidifies when it comes in contact with air. AC-Delco part number for the seal tabs is 10-108 and they actually work. If the leak is in the plastic elbow that runs from the lower intake to the belt tensioner, then even the seal tabs won't help. Check for coolant around the top of the engine passenger side. Many times, the afformentioned coolant elbow will fail along the molding seam, and won't leak until the system is under pressure while driving. Many times, until it fails worse and really starts leaking, it won't leave anything on the ground.

Also, check your oil filler cap for any condensation. If there is any, clean it off & check again in a week. You want to make sure no coolant is leaking internally into the oil.

Right, but the question is regarding a "Barz-leaks" aftermarket type that I'm sure you'll agree is a product not to be endoresed as a 'fix'.

He didn't specify what brand he was looking at, and I knew what you were referring to Wrightz, and I agree 100% about the bars-leaks. I was just giving him an alternative that I know works.

Yeah sorry i diddnt mention what product i was talking about, i saw it at advance auto parts, it was brown in color, but i forgot the actual name of it though.
