transmission
when shifting from park to reverse when i leave my house in the morning it seems to shift much harder than any other time, almost banging. Is this any indication that the trans fluid and filter wont take care of? 83k miles trans fluid never changed. Still a good red color not black.

Re: transmission
How is the idle before shifting from park to reverse? What are the rpms reading? Doing a pan drop consisting of ATF and screen filter would be a good starting point. Just don't get a flush which may not be good at your mileage.

Re: transmission
that’s a common complaint. GM introduced a new manifold pressure switch which is suppose to help. I've rebuilt my tans and it still does the same thing as yours. If my car is idling fast and its cold out I'll pop it into "D" for a second before hitting "R".
