Rear window and hatch 2001 blazer

I have read my gm service manual and still can not get the window to release on 2001 2 door blazer. Any ideas? Being a 2 door the tailgate will not open or drop down until the window pops up. If you have any ideas pls. let me know I am so not in the mood to try to disassemble my tailgate! Thanks!

theres a 2amp fuse for the window is it ok? b.t.w. your tailgate won't be disassembled in the up position w\o f-ing up the panel inside. the rod coming off the lock inside the door is not uncommon. panel will come from the inside after you toss the 4 screws holding it on the side of the gate. the clips and the screw at the latch seem to do a fine job of holding the panel on.
