Angry dashboard went dead

All displays and guages on the dashboard of my 2003 Saturn Vue suddenly failed, all at once. No speedometer, trip meter, fuel level, display light, brake light, seatbelt light, door ajar light, etc. The only thing that appears to be functioning is the turn signal indicator. The audible chime for headlights, ignition, etc. still works. I've noticed several times that the left turn indicator / headlight knob feels hot but I'm not sure it wasn't from sunlight (San Antonio Tx).

I've had it three months. It's been back to the dealer four times. It had a current safety inspection but the horn didn't work and something related to the remote locking and alarm kept draining the battery so it wouldn't start. The horn had been disconnected. No clue why.

Also can't get more than 18 MPG even on highway driving. Closer to 16 in town. Saturn replaced the fuel sending unit twice and they say my expectations are unrealistic.

Re: dashboard went dead

sounds like the bcm (body control module) is the culprit. It controls all of those functions. Not a cheap item to replace though.
