'97 VR4 vs '05 STI

Finally something decent wanted to play!

So i'm on my way home from work tonight on the highway in the middle lane, just cruising, half falling asleep...when a blue '04-'05 Sti rolls past me in the left lane. So my ears perk up, and I punch it past him and let off. He stayed back for a bit, but then pulled up to my rear bumper and punched it past me. The highway splits just up ahead and he was on the left and I had to go to the right, so I figured there was no room to run him...then to my delightful suprise he turns right at the last second. So I punch it and catch back up to him because right after the split theres about a 3/4 mile 2-lane straightaway..perfect! So I pull up even with him, too dark to do any beeping, so I just pace for a second as does he, and we both punch it at the same time from about 80 mph. Through 3rd I pull a car, shift to 4th (kind of a bad shift it seemed) my pull seemed to stop, but he wasn't gaining. We get to about 125 mph, and traffic was up ahead in his lane so he shuts down and hits the brakes, so I let off. I think he wanted to follow me to stop and talk, but I was too tired for all that so I went home. The fun has begun!

Edit: This was with my Intrax springs and Stillen downpipe sitting in the backseat, I want them on the car so bad!!!

Good race senor. What kind of gains are you hoping for with the downpipe?

Well i've seen dyno charts that show 40-50 to the wheels if I remember right, so thats what i'm hoping for...but mostly I just want to hit consistant mid-high 12s when I hit the track.

Downpipe and gutted precats are definitely noticeable when you do them. add in an mbc, and the car is a whole new beast.

Nice kill man.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.
