Check Fuel Cap

I have a 2007 Mercury Montego with about 4000 miles.
Today I started getting the above message. I did check the fule cap and it seems to be fine.
Any suggestions? I really hate taking it to the dealer to have checked out because that takes a whole day.

Re: Check Fuel Cap

If it is still on, then take it to a dealer. Warranty covers that.

Re: Check Fuel Cap

what dealership are you going to - try to shop around - the one I'm at if you aren't in and out within an hour (and for this you probably would be) you are in a car.

Re: Check Fuel Cap

I've found it takes a few days and a fill up before the warning goes away.
