Making a Ram Air

I am new to this whole mods thing, but i want to increase the performance of my car without breaking my buget. I have heard of good things about ram air systems and was considering making one for my 2002 sunfire. I was wondering if anyone has done this or has any ideas on where to start. any advise would be great. thanks

Re: Making a Ram Air

wow you wanna make one? Its gonna be hard but its possible, you need to buy a scoop, then make a square hole on the hood, and then make a square plastic tube from the hole to your airbox, that should be it, but then you have to sand then hood, then prime it, then paint the hood if you want it to look good and prevent rust...

Re: Making a Ram Air

Ram air intake not ram air hood porting.

Just disconnect the piping after the throttle body and ghetto on a high flow performance filter on the end of the piping. DONE!

Ill take that as a compliment coming from someone that with in hours has doubled their post count and has yet to contribute a shred of usable information besides color commentary and repeating what everyone else has said in any given thread already. I stand by my previous statement.

In hours I can do a lot of damage. This is to relieve my boredom of the ORG and N-body sites. When you're waiting for parts you sit at the internet and find new places to roam. Here I am. Maybe eventually I'll have a shred of something repeatable for you.

At least I can say something childish like my car is faster than yours.

Re: Making a Ram Air

Honestly just stick to the WAI or CAI.... Your not going to see a significant gain out of the amount of work required. Don't mind james, you'll get use to him and his $.02 worth of sarcasim if you stick around. He's got some meaningful comments to say at times.

Re: Making a Ram Air

Aww come on cody, my brand of sarcasm and dickishness is worth at least .05. Also, Ive got alot of good info but by the time I get around to the board most of the time questions have been answered and things have been worked out so there is no sense of going into a thread to be a "yes man"....yes..those guys are right...yes...do that. It just doesnt make any sense and all it does is up a pointless post count. Well unless a sarcastic or witty comment needs thrown in to take the dryness out of the net air. You know we like to keep things fun up in this bitch.

Re: Making a Ram Air

i made this one for my GSR last year

and then i made this one for my winter beater....just for fun because i was bored one day. The funniest thing is that i actually picked up some power and gas mileage, but most of that was because the filter was caked in dust....you guys know you're jealous of this mf'er...the car is for sale if anyone wants it :P
